Putin orders govt to rein in fertilizer price growth after March 1, 2016
MOSCOW, Oct 13 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to develop and implement a mechanism to restrain growth of fertilizer prices for farmers by March 1, 2016, the Kremlin said in a statement on Tuesday.
“To develop and implement a mechanism of cap price growth for mineral fertilizers purchased by agriculture product makers,” the Kremlin said quoting a list of orders compiled by Putin after a meeting on agriculture development.
Previously, Putin said that the government managed to reach an agreement with producers of fertilizers to hold prices until March 2016. The Agriculture Ministry said that under the deal prices for some fertilizers may not only stay flat until the end of 2015, but also decrease by about 2–5%.
